# Webflow

> AI-driven design updates and site management

The Webflow MCP Server connects AI agents to your Webflow projects through Caylex, enabling natural-language-driven management of designs, site content, and CMS data without writing API calls directly. Built on Webflow's Data and Designer APIs, it exposes a comprehensive set of tools that allow agents to create and modify visual elements on the canvas, manage CSS styles and design variables, build reusable components, work with CMS collections, handle assets, manage custom scripts, and retrieve site-wide information. Agents can also interact with pages, comments, enterprise features, and access an AI assistant for Webflow-specific guidance. This server is ideal for Caylex users who want to automate Webflow workflows, audit site content, or programmatically build and maintain design systems through intelligent agents.

<Warning>
  **Prerequisites:**

  * A Webflow account with at least one site you have access to.
  * For Designer API tools (canvas, elements, styles, variables), the Webflow MCP Bridge app must be open in the Webflow Designer during agent interactions.
  * Access to enterprise-level features (e.g., data\_enterprise\_tool) requires a Webflow Enterprise plan.
</Warning>

<Note>
  **Important API details:**

  * The server is built on both Webflow's Data API and Designer API — some tools (canvas manipulation, element creation, styles) require the Designer API and may only function when the Webflow MCP Bridge app is open inside the Webflow Designer.
  * OAuth authentication is used to authorize access; users must grant permission to specific Webflow sites or Workspaces during the authorization flow.
  * A beta version of the server is in development that introduces consolidated tools, batch operations for updating multiple items in a single call, and improved performance — standard users may encounter current limitations around batching.
  * Some tools are scoped to enterprise Webflow plans (data\_enterprise\_tool), and access to certain features may depend on the user's Webflow account tier.
</Note>
